Overall opinion
Overall opinion, if I knew what I know now I wouldn't of picked Exeter as my choice of study. The lecturers were arrogant one swore at a student for asking potential students the truth. The medical centre turned away a transgendered person; and attacks were covered up and not dealt with properly. Unfortunately I couldn't choose 0.
Quality of course and lecturers
Unfortunately the lecturers were old fashioned and very conservative. If you had long hair or were non-mainstream, then forget the lecturers wouldn't take you seriously nor would you be given any respect.
University facilities
The Ram Bar is a poor excuse for a bar mainly used just to get drunk before heading down to the Lemon Grove (aka Lemmy) which is a canteen turned into a school disco at night nothing to write home about. The library is okay, though most Schools keep all the important books in their own departments. The sports facilities are good however like everything in Exeter, it's small so don't be anticipating anything too fancy and you'll be okay.
Student union
Student Union also known as the Guild, only as good as the people running the Guild. They don't want normal students to have more power than they do so they've restricted the original constitution down to a small trickle. Also not very helpful if you're LGBT especially if you're transgendered as they haven't come across a person and if they did they would just swival there thumbs.
University societies and clubs
A wide variety of clubs, one more thing if you join the student labour party keep it silent. Since most of the other students are conservative.
University life
Nothing to write home about: Lemmy- Canteen turned School Disco, cheesey music and leary students Exeter nightclubs only go there on certain nights otherwise the locals may get a bit upset as they're unwritten rules to go to a certain nightclub on this night just to avoid trouble.
Accommodation
Over priced and over hyped. Though domestic services does control all university accomodation remember this is Exeter not London so accomodation is very limited likely hood is you'll spend 98% of your student life in University accomodation because it's that smaller city. Enough said.
Job prospects and careers service
Careers service are okay just don't mention the Securty Service (MI5) or Intelligence Officer to them they'll go ballistic and go into meltdown unless they've improved; however I doubt it.
