Overall opinion

I haven't enjoyed University, infact my experience led me to quit. I wouldn't recommed this Uni, it has flashy facilities and if thats what yo're looking for then thats great. However with a real lack of guidance from tutors that you're paying £3000 a year to be taught from; I expected better. Some tuors could really do with some basic teachers training because they're incredibly dismissive.

Quality of course and lecturers

The course wasn't very challenging, there was no push to get you out of your comfort zone and try new things apart from a couple of workshops which were voluntary. The tutors I found were very vague and generally unhelpful. Most of the time tutors don't clarify projects telling you its all about self discovery. Some staff are just downright rude and very opinionated, the're very quick to point at the star student and shun the poor ones. I definately think they should spend more time communicating since you see a tutor if your lucky for about half an hour a week. If you try to seek them out then they're often too busy etc.

University facilities

The facilities were fantastic, somewhat misleadig because I thougt it would be an amazing plce becaus they had all he means. They have lots of shiny new equipment. Only thing that didn't appeal to me was the lack of studio space, they had 2 studio's to share amongst 240 students (all 3 years. I found thi dissuaded new tudents to utilise the space since the seond and third years had more priority. Library was good and varied and quite a few high tech computers. Thre's a canteen which isn't bad.

University life

The town is a club cenral place, ideal for wild nights out, quite expensive though. To save money I didn't go out too often

My first year residency was great, Sion Hill is on the top of a hill and halls of residence was 3 minutes walk from the Uni. However thats shut down and the current first year residency is about 20 minutes away and up the hill. I lived in the main student living accomodation in second year about 45 minutes away.
