Overall opinion

Think twice. The fine art course is isolated from the rest of the uni and this has its problems. they will sell it to you as being small enough to be a big happy family - if you don't mind being brainwashed and feeling like you have to flirt with the tutors to get anywhere, then you might be ok. if you're wanting to actually "make" anything (a dirty word in fine art) you will probably need to do this at home as there are hardly any facilities and rumour has it that those which are left are going to be closing down. this course is in serious need of improvement. if i had my time again, i would steer clear and head for Sunderland or Newcastle (if you're wanting to be in the north). However, if you can't get in anywhere else give it a thought.

Quality of course and lecturers

Rock bottom morale; tutors preoccupied with selves and hanging onto their jobs. Poor student contact. Bad atmosphere all round. If you want to graduate with no skills, no developed talent, with a few big words and an ability to talk about yourself like you're really something, then give this some thought (though bear in mind in the real world you need something to back this up).

University facilities

The library has closed down. The canteen for fine art is crap; no bar, no sports facilities, computers ok though limited use
