University societies and clubs
Very very very poor. An excuse for a university and the sports teams I came in contact with were absolutely DISGUSTING. I won't go into too much detail, but to give parents and prospective students an idea of what to expect I will outline the usual nights out around the pleasant city of Lancaster that the girls hockey team and the boys rugby union team usually have. They go into pubs that are relatively calm and nice and tear the place apart. They have been known to actually knock down toilet cubicles in pubs, destroy furniture and defecate on baby changing units with the toilet door open for all present to see whilst being jeered on by the rest of the team. The girls hockey team regularly throw each other in skips which, could be said to just be a bit stupid, but the language they use is absolutely awful and they dont care who hears. What prompted me to write this review is that tonight I witnessed the boys rugby union team come into a pub I was sitting in and verbally abuse a few girls who were sitting having a quiet drink at the table next to them. After the girls left in floods of tears, the group of around 20 boys were told to calm down and leave. They cleary didnt understand what they had done, and were far too ignorant to care anyway, at which point one decided to go to the toilet by the entrance to the pub on the wall, and a few others forced themselves to be sick right outside. They made a huge mess and really upset alot of people. Its such an unpleasant environment Im surprised the University of Cumbria ever has anyone wanting to go there. I really suggest that if you are thinking about this 'university' you think twice and make sure its what you really want as some students are well known around Lancaster for a very very nasty attitude.
