Overall opinion

Not recommended. The whole course was strung together badly, with no help or effort made in helping us to get a good degree or get on a graduate scheme.Best advice I can give is to steer clear!

Quality of course and lecturers

The course was poorly delivered in every aspect. Often I would turn up to find lectures were cancelled at the last minute, or lectures were irrelevant to exams or essays. Lecturers rarely responded to emails and would usually ignore any request for further help or assistance with a subject area. A-Level classes at college (Carlisle College) were much better than lessons here, because at least the A-Level classes were relevant and interesting. I cannot recommend this place, it is very bad in all aspects.

University facilities

The library is really small, and sometimes books that you need are at a completely different campus. So you might need a book, and find that you have to wait a week or two for it to arrive from Lancaster or Penrith. Also there tends to be a low number of copies of certain books, so you may never see the book that you need. The bar is okay, cheap and cheerful. Gym is ok.

University life

The pubs in Carlisle are okay, best club is Terminal, with Walkabout next door.Isn't a patch on Liverpool though!

Job prospects and careers service

Never saw the careers people once during my whole time here. I got away as soon as I could, so don't know how my fellow students got on.The course at Carlisle hasn't helped me at all, and I am currently Unemployed.
