Overall opinion

I didn't enjoy my time here at this University. I am a bright individual that wanted to learn and do well but I found that the tutors and the facilities let me down. I wanted to join clubs but there were only 3 or so and they were poorly run. Because it is a city campus it is hard to make friends here. I would have learnt more just working in the industry than getting this degree. I would recommend studying at the University of Greenwich rather than this University, as it is more central and the facilities are more highly recommended by friends.

Quality of course and lecturers

I studied Event Management and I came out of my 3 year degree having only planned 1 event. It is a waste of time and the tutors know it - most of them are lazy, resentful of students and cancelled lectures regularly. We had 2 days of lectures a week, which is expensive and unnecessary. The tutors made my life hell in my final year by trying to defer me as a punishment for not attending lectures. The marking system is also ridiculous - there is so much group work that smart ones suffer and the idiots who made your life hell are awarded with a 2:1.

University facilities

The library is a joke. Only 1 out of 4 floors is silent and this 1 floor has no computers. None of the students have respect for the library and that people actually want to work in there, not just check Facebook. The book supply for Event Management was severley limited.

Student union

The Student Union is okay but they are no very active. There are not enough societies.

University societies and clubs

There are not enough.

University life

The campus is fine. A short bus ride to the student union bar, which is fairly small. It is not a very sociable university.

Accommodation

Accommodation was quite nice and new. Fairly priced as well. A perk.

Job prospects and careers service

Because the University require you to work 400 hours during your course it is of course good for job prospects afterwards.
